I'm such a sap for a happy-evah-after ending

“One minute we talk of the colour of fruit, the next of love. How does that happen?” (John Thornton)

I watched the dvd "North & South" (the BBC production of 2004) again over the weekend. Twice.

And I cried both times at the ending. It's that good.

I think Mr Darcy has some new competition in Mr John Thornton. Eee gads, I love me the romantic/dramatic costume pieces!

Which has the better scene- Darcy swimming in the lake or the train scene from North and South...?

That train scene makes me all swoony...

DEFINITELY the train scene! It too make sme all swoony and warm in special places, LOL! ;p

Although the sight of Mr Darcy rising up out of the pond all wet and dripping, mmmmm ... I feel a film-fest coming on this weekend, just so I can refresh my memory!

I haven't seen the swimming scene with Mr. Darcy - but the train scene in N&S. Nothing has ever put a dopey grin on my face like it does, or make me feel so sad as the 'look back, look back at me' scene.
